It was a hot summer in Berlin when I lived there. Every Sunday I went to a flea market, accompanied by this sweet, sticky heat. I found myself strolling around for hours. It was there where I met Jana. Her stand was no different from the others, but indeed she was very different. It was a very soft the way we got to know each other better. Many Sundays passed before she invited me to her home. Her home was a beautiful place close to Lietzenseepark – one of my favourite places in Berlin. It was right there, where she showed me her precious treasures. She wouldn’t let me see them all at the same time. Carefully she took one after the other behind a large linen cloth to show me. She told me beautiful stories about each single piece. Stories from Paris, from Prag, from the 60ies and 70ies, from Ex-Lovers and beautiful places. Finally, she let me rediscover why I love pre-used clothes so much – they come with a history. It’s this history which makes them unique. So, this top was Jana’s. It means a lot to me. Rest in peace beautiful friend. Thanks for letting me meet you.
If I could, I’d talk to you, love you and then forget you. But none of it works. Adorned in nautical stripes, this 80ies linen midi dress has a relaxed silhouette. Use a belt to temper the loose silhouette if you feel like.
